Full details about BYD Atto 3 electric SUV for India

BYD India is planning to launch the Atto 3 electric SUV in the Indian market. The brand currently only has the e6 electric MPV in India. This will expand its product lineup in India as well as give electric SUV buyers another option to consider. As BYD gears up for the Atto 3’s launch, more details of the Atto 3 electric SUV have surfaced online, thanks to a leaked brochure.

BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV Brochure Leaked – What Do We See?

The Atto 3 will be the second model in India to use BYD’s Blade Battery. The battery pack will be 49.92 kWh in capacity and will offer a range of 345 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle). There will also be an Extended Range version. This will use a larger 60.49 kWh battery and offer a range of 420 km (WLTP cycle). The Atto 3 gets a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with an output of 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque. The brochure shows that BYD claims a 0 to 100 kmph time of 7.3 seconds. 

As per the brochure, BYD will pack the Atto 3 with features. The electric SUV will get a panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, LED headlights and taillights and heated ORVMs.

On the inside, it will get electrically-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control and a wireless smartphone charger. The dashboard will house a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There will also be a 5-inch digital instrument cluster.

There will also be a host of safety features on offer. These include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring system, lane departure warning, front and rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert as well as rear cross-traffic brake.

BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV – What Do We Know?

According to sources, dealerships have also started taking unofficial bookings for the Atto 3. Previous reports suggest that the market launch could take place on 11th October 2022. The Atto 3 is already on sale in various other markets such as Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. 

BYD will likely bring the Atto 3 to India as a Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) unit. There’s no confirmation or leak about its pricing. However, it will likely be between INR 30 lakh to INR 35 lakh.
