Daimler India Commercial Vehicles provides free vaccination to truck drivers of all brands. This vaccination process is happening at the company’s on-site vaccination centre in Oragadam Plant. On the first day, a total of over 60 drivers were vaccinated. As of now, DICV has already vaccinated over 3,000 suppliers and other third-party contractors. With this vaccination process, DICV wants to send a strong message on the importance of vaccination. This is the only way to flatten the curve and reduce the number of cases and fatalities due to Covid-19.
The company had started its vaccination drive in May for its employees and their dependents. And within just two months, almost all of its working personnel were inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine. Currently, the company is also striving to achieve complete, two-dose vaccination for both its employees and dependents as early as possible.
The company has also undertaken over 100 initiatives to help fight the Covid-19 and support its stakeholders. One of the key initiatives was conducting educational webinars at regular intervals. The latest initiative is the ‘DICV Support Program for Dependents’. This policy provides long term aid to the dependents in the unlikely event of an employee’s demise due to Covid-19. In addition to this, dependents will get an ex-gratia payout of INR 10 lakhs or 2 years CTC, whichever is higher. DICV will also take up the cost of the educational expense until graduation for up to 2 children per employee. Along with this, DICV will also provide medical insurance for up to five years.
DICV recently rolled out a slew of initiatives to support its dealer partners as well. This support package includes financial and medical benefits like vaccination, incentive and insurance. DICV has always been a forerunner in terms of extending its support, and it is no different in this current Covid-19 situation.
