Ford could be planning to introduce the Ford Ranger pick-up truck in the Indian market. According to spy shots, a Ford Ranger has been spotted undisguised on a flat truck being transported along with the new-generation Endeavour. Currently, the status of the Ranger is unknown, however, the brand could introduce the Ranger pick-up along with the new Endeavour in the Indian market.
The Ford Ranger, if launched, will compete with the Isuzu DMAX V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux. Both the Toyota Hilux and the DMAX V-Cross are the only lifestyle pick-up trucks in India. The current generation Ford Ranger was launched in 2021 and comes with all the bell and whistles to compete with both the Hilux and the DMAX V-Cross.
In terms of size, the Ford Ranger measures a 5334mm in length, 2202mm in width and 1877mm in height. The Ranger pick-up comes with 3269mm wheelbase and 5 feet cargo bed with a capacity of 1231 litres. The pick-up also comes with 223mm of ground clearance. Also, the Ranger comes with 29.2 degrees approach angle, 25.1 degrees angle of departure and 21.8 degrees ramp breakover angle.
Powering the Ford Ranger in the international market is a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine with 270 Hp of power. Another options is a 2.7-litre engine with 315 Hp of power. The Ford Ranger also comes with a 4×2 or a 4×4 drivetrain option. The dual-cab 5-seater pick-up is also likely to come with an electronic 10-speed gearbox.
In addition to the Ford Ranger, spy shots of the new-generation Ford Endeavour also emerged on the internet. Both the vehicles appear alongside each other and is also likely to go on sale together, provided Ford re-enters the Indian market. If the brand makes a comeback with the Endeavour, the SUV will compete with the the Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster.
