The new Ford Endeavour, also known as the Ford Everest abroad, has been spotted again in Chennai, fueling speculations about Ford’s comeback in the Indian market. The model spotted is the Ford Everest Trend, which is the entry-level variant of the SUV sold in markets like Thailand and Australia.

New Endeavor

The new Endeavour, like its predecessor, is based on the Ranger pick-up platform with a ladder-frame architecture. It is expected to borrow some design elements from the Ranger along with its engine lineup. In the international markets, the Endeavor/Everest is available in two turbo-diesel powertrains – a 2.0L four-cylinder bi-turbo and a 3.0L V6. The 2.0L comes with a 4X2 drivetrain and the engine produces 206.5 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0L V6 produces 246.7 hp power and 600 Nm of torque and comes with a 4X4 drivetrain.

he exteriors of the new Endeavour are expected to feature a large front grille, Matrix LED headlamps, C-shaped DRLs, L-shaped tail lamps, and revised bumpers and tailgate. The interiors are expected to be equipped with a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.4-inch digital driver display unit, and a three-row layout with a large panoramic sunroof.

The new Ford Endeavour is expected to be a strong competitor in the Indian SUV market, going up against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. The launch timeline and Ford’s plans are not so clear yet. However, the sightings have got the enthusiasts excited for sure.
