Ford India has launched the updated EcoSport compact-SUV to meet the 2020 BS6 emission norms. The prices for the updated Ford EcoSport start from INR 8.04 lakh and the car is available in both petrol and diesel variants. Ford will now offer a 3-year / 100,000 km warranty as standard on the EcoSport SUV. In its segment, the Ford EcoSport is now the oldest compact-SUV and rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 amd Tata Nexon as a sub-4 metre product.
The 1.5L TDCi diesel engine which is a 4-cylinder block in the Ford EcoSport produces 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L Ti-VCT petrol engine which is a 3-cylinder block under the hood of the EcoSport produces 122 PS of power and 149 Nm of torque matched to either a 5-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Ford EcoSport will have a service interval of 10,000 km and the brand claims that EcoSport owners will spend only INR 1,400 for maintenance via scheduled service in the first year while the 10th-year service will cost just IN 4,700.
Features available with the Ford EcoSport include an electric sunroof, 6-airbags, SYNC 3 infotainment software with 8-inch touchscreen display on the top model, 9-inch touchscreen-based infotainment on lower variants, automatic HID headlamp, DRLs, electrochromic rear view mirror, auto wipers, engine start / stop button…
