Royal Enfield has finally launched the BS6 compliant version of the Himalayan adventure tourer motorcycle. This bike has been priced at INR 1,86,811 ex-showroom and will be available for bookings today onwards. The 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan now comes with a BS6 compliant engine and new features along with new body colours as well. The new paint scheme includes grey, blue and red. Royal Enfield first launched the Himalayan in 2016, but it was not a niggle free motorcycle.

Powering the Himalayan is a 411cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-cooled, 4-stroke, fuel-injected motor producing 24.3 BHP of power @ 6500 RPM and 32 Nm of torque between 4000 – 4500 RPM matched to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike now has a kerb weight of 199 kg with 9-% fuel an oil.

The updated Himalayan comes with switchable ABS which allows for better off-roading with the ability to lock the rear wheels. So one can drift and slide the motorcycle with this feature. The Himalayan also gets a new hazard lamp switch, updated braking hardware which reduces stopping distance, and improved side stand to allow for parking in tricky conditions.

Royal Enfield will be offering a 3-year standard warranty on the Himalayan and the price breakup is as follows:

  • INR 1,86,811 for White and Granite colours
  • INR 1,89,565 for Sleet Grey & Gravel colours
  • INR 1,91,491 for Red & Blue colours

Royal Enfield will also introduce new apparel to suit the updated Himalayan motorcycle.
