Indian automotive manufacturer Force Motors has announced a price hike for its Gurkha off-roader SUV in the Indian market. Originally priced at INR 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom), the brand has increased the price of the SUV by INR 51,000. The Force Gurkha now costs INR 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom) to counteract increased input costs made by Force Motors. Force Motors has not made any feature or mechanical changes to the Gurkha, which launched in September 2021.
Force Gurkha: Design DetailsĀ
Force Motors introduced the all-new Gurkha with distinctive changes, which included the all-new Force logo on the front grille. With a design inspired by the Mercedes G-Wagon, the Force Gurkha sports an air intake snorkel for supplying fresh air. The Gurkha now uses a Metal Body over its ladder-on-frame chassis, which provides extra protection for the driver and passengers.
The automaker has equipped the SUV with its Force LED Pro Edge headlamps which claim to offer excellent visibility. Force offers the Gurkha in 5 colours- red, orange, green, grey, white along with a 3-year/1.5 lakh Km warranty. The brand also claims that the integrated fender indicators help improve the visibility of drivers at night.
Force Gurkha: Technical Specs & FeaturesĀ
Powering the Force Gurkha is a Mercedes-Benz sourced 2.6-litre, direct-injection, turbocharged diesel motor that produces 91 PS and 250 Nm. Paired to a 5-speed, G-28 manual gearbox, the SUV offers 35-degrees of lean angle and 700mm of water wading capacity. Force Motors has also ensured to pair the Mercedes-sourced gearbox with a hydraulically actuated clutch which works via a cable shift. The Gurkha SUV also sports a 4X4 AWD system with low range capability where drivers can manually lock both differentials.
Meanwhile, Force has equipped the interior of the Gurkha with loads of features aimed at the driver and passengers. These include the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity along with tilt and telescopic steering. Additionally, the SUV sports power windows, central locking, cornering lamps, speed-sensing door locks, and a single-piece rear door with wipers. Other features of the Gurkha include the tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, 500-litre boot, and ABS with EBD.
