The very first Ferrari SF90 Stradale has arrived in India. The model was seen in the Ferrari New Delhi showroom and is reportedly being shipped to Chennai to a very well known garage.
Ferrari SF90 uses the PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) engine architecture and is the first-ever Ferrari to do so. PHEV is basically an internal combustion engine coupled with three electric motors, of which one is located at the rear between the engine and gearbox and the other two are located on the front axle. It is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine making 769 BHP of power and 800Nm of torque. The electric motors are capable of producing 217 BHP of additional power. The 7.9kWh lithium-ion battery gives a range of 26 km and the top speed being on electric power can reach up to 134 km/h. The gearbox is an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Ferrari claims to achieve a top speed of 341 kmph and is able to sprint from 0-100 kmph in 2.5 seconds.
This particular car is one of the first right-hand-drive SF90 with Rosso Corsa exterior and Nuovo Cuoio interiors. The interiors include a 16-inch curved display placed behind the steering wheel showing all the car’s important statistics. The steering wheel is equipped with multiple capacitive touch interfaces to use the various functionalities. Ferrari also claims that the engine sound can be channeled for the driver to hear.
All the models are loaded with features starting with automatic air conditioning, keyless entry and ignition, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear fog lamps, LED taillights, heated power-folding side-view mirrors, a power-adjustable tilt-and-telescopic steering column, leather upholstery, a backup camera with rear parking sensors and more. The driver’s seat is fitted with a four-way power-adjustable feature. There are a lot of customization options available for the upholstery, wheels, carbon-fibre components, titanium exhaust pipes and brake callipers in varying colours.
As per the EPA, the Ferrari SF90 should deliver about 18 mpg when running only on gasoline and up to 51 MPGe when running on both gasoline and electric motors.
