Electric Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon bookings open in India

Mercedes-Benz has announced that the brand has commenced accepting bookings for the all-electric G-Wagon in the Indian market. The pre-bookings for the G-Wagon in India are now open and customers can book the car through Mercedes-Benz showrooms across the country.

All-Electric Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon

The electric version of the timeless SUV is available in a single G 580 trim and features similar exteriors as the ICE powered version. However, the all-electric car comes with features such as a gloss black grille with chrome elements. In addition to this, the electric G-Wagon also comes with rounded LED headlamps and bulging front bumper. The car also comes with a storage box instead of a spare wheel to carry the charging cables and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon also features a raised hood and air vents on the rear wheel arches. The SUV also features new ‘EQ’ badges as well.

Interiors

On the inside, the G-Wagon electric comes with the Mercedes-Benz MBUX infotainment system featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also comes with features such as a Burmester 3D surround sound system, a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless charging and temperature control cup holders. It also gets five driving modes – Comfort, Sport, Individual, Trail & Rock as well as a 2-speed shiftable gearbox.

Powertrain, Range and Performance

Powering the Mercedes-Benz G 580 are four electric motors offering a combined an output of 580 Hp of power and 1165 Nm of torque. The electric motors are paired to a 116 kWh battery pack offering a range of 386 km on a single charge. The all-electric G-Wagon also comes with fast charging capabilities which can recharge the battery from 10-80% in just 30 minutes at a 200 kW Level 3 DC fast charger. In terms of performance, the G 580 is capable of sprinting from a standstill to 98 kmph in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 180 kmph.
