Ducati’s Panigale V4 SP2 is a 228 HP track beast

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has finally unveiled its latest 2022 Panigale V4 SP2 via its online World Premiere Series. Showcased during the 9th and final episode of the series, the Panigale V4 SP2 is the special edition flagship motorcycle. For the 2022 version, Ducati has ensured to introduce new updates on the V4 SP2 along with reducing its weight. The manufacturer has also increased the performance aspect of the bike and introduced new parts and accessories that are exclusive to the machine.

2022 Ducati Panigale V4 SP2: Design Details

The 2022 Panigale V4 SP2 sports its characteristic yet special “Winter Test” livery, which also includes Matte Black fairings. Ducati has then combined these elements with carbon-finished rims and wings, contrast red accents, and the exposed brushed-aluminium fuel tank. The wings with a double profile design showcase the Italian flag that also appears on the Panigale V4 R SBK. Meanwhile, the lower half of the fairing sports a Ducati Corse logo with new heat extractors and red detailing.

2022 Ducati Panigale V4 SP2: Technical Specs & Features

Powering the all-new Panigale V4 SP2 is a 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale, liquid-cooled, four-valve V4 engine with a counter-rotating crankshaft. This engine produces 215 PS and 123.6 Nm via a 6-speed manual transmission with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) technology. Along with a hydraulically-controlled, slipper dry clutch, the V4 SP2 sports 5-spoke, 17-inch front and rear carbon fibre wheels. Ducati has also ensured to equip the bike with an electronic fuel injection system and ride-by-wire elliptical throttle bodies.

The 2022 Panigale V4 SP2 sports an aluminium alloy ‘Front Frame’ with optimised stiffness and a 17-litre fuel tank. For race/road conditions, the V4 SP2 sports 43mm, fully-adjustable Ohlins NPX25/30 front forks with TiN treatment. At the rear, the bike gets a fully-adjustable Ohlins TTX36 unit with electronic compression and an aluminium single-sided swingarm. Braking performance comes courtesy of the 330mm, semi-floating front discs with radially-mounted Brembo Monobloc Stylema, 4-piston callipers with Cornering ABS EVO.

Meanwhile, the rear of the V4 SP2 sports the 245mm disc with a 2-piston calliper and Cornering ABS EVO. Additionally, the 2022 Panigale V4 SP2 sports 850mm of seat height, a 1,469mm wheelbase, and several Ducati-specific safety equipments. These include Riding Modes (Street and Sport), Power Modes, Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Slide Control, Brake Control, and Auto Tyre Calibration. The V4 SP2 also gets an Akrapovic exhaust, full LED lighting with LED DRLs, and a 5-inch TFT display.
