Citroen is gearing up to launch the Hyundai Creta rival in India soon. However, it is now reported that the SUV could offer a 3-row configuration.
Based on the CMP modular platform, the SUV will have a 2,620 mm wheelbase and an overall length of 4,400 mm.
The rear row seats could be for children, and Citroen could project the car as a 5+2 seater. In the entry-level segment, only the Renault Triber offers seven seats. Even then, the higher-end variants of these cars could be priced very close to the base model variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Kia Carens.
Citroen C3 Aircross : More details
The C3 Aircross was spotted testing on the outskirts of Chennai. It looks significantly bigger than the C3. Initially, it was said that the C3 Aircross would be just the extended version of the C3, but that is not the case.
On the outside, the car resembles the C3, but it gets split headlamps, a new grille and wrap around tail lamps. In terms of dimensions, the C3 Aircross will be longer than 4 meters. Citroen could offer both 2 and 3-row options in this SUV
On the inside, the C3 Aircross could get similar switch gear and steering as the regular C3. But, to differentiate it, Citroen might add features like a dashboard mounted touchscreen infotainment, a better layout, new HVAC control and features like automatic climate control.
Powertrain options on the C3 Aircross
Citroen is likely to offer the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine from the C3. This engine makes 110 HP. While this might be fine in the city, we need to see if it can head against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder.
Further, the French carmaker could launch an electric version of the C3 Aircross as well.
