It is no secret that Kia India is one of the fastest-growing carmakers in the country. With the commencement of the new year, the Korean carmaker has already put on a great start. January 2023 is already its highest-ever domestic month. The carmaker put on a total sales of 28,634 units for the given period. With this figure, the company recorded a growth of over 48 per cent compared to 19,319 units in January 2022.
Kia India Keeps On Breaking Records
Unsurprisingly enough, Kia India also surpassed the domestic sales milestone of 6.5 lakh units. This is within its four years of business operations. This also makes Kia the fastest carmaker in India to achieve the feat. Kia India’s top two models, Seltos and Sonet, are its bread and butter. The models’ performance in January 2023 stood at 10,470 units and 9,261 units, respectively. Third on the list was Carens with 7,900 units and finally, we have Carnival with 1,003 units sold domestically. Kia mentioned that it recorded the highest-ever monthly sales of Carens as well.
Kia Continues Its Momentum
After finishing 2022 on a high, Kia has continued the momentum to CY2023 as well. The strong sales figure indicates customers’ appreciation towards the brand. Given the popularity of Kia in India, the company has big plans for the Indian market. In the recent Auto Expo 2023, we got a glimpse of what is about to come from Kia India. We saw the Concept EV9 and the KA4, which are potential new models for the Indian market.
Kia And The Its Stort Till Date
In its short stint of less than four years in India, Kia has done pretty well. With a total sales of 6,50,564 units in just 42 months, Kia is easily one of the best performers in the Indian market. The company’s first product for the market, the Seltos, still remains customers’ favourite. It is also the highest contributor to the Kia’s overall performance with 3,52,433 units. Then we have the sub-4-metre representative from Kia, which is the Sonet. This has sold a total of 2,13,112 units in the domestic market.
