French car manufacturer Citroen had planned its debut for the Indian market in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the schedule has been delayed. Now the brand’s flagship SUV in the Indian market the C5 Aircross is slated to make its official debut on the 1st of February 2021. The Citroen C5 Aircross will be positioned as a premium mid-size SUV and is expected to be priced close to the INR 25-30 lakh mark.
The brand has also revealed its findings on the meaning of “Comfort” for Indians based on age, gender and the impact of the ongoing pandemic. The research commissioned by Citroen is based on 1,801 interviews conducted across 10 cities in India and was carried out by the Innovative Research Services, Mumbai. The motive of the research is to find out how Indians seek comfort in their day-to-day life, in various stages but more importantly in terms of mobility.
According to the research, 19% of the respondents suggested that the drive to work was the most uncomfortable hour of their day. This is mainly due to the traffic, potholes and the bumps encountered by the driver and occupants. Furthermore, it was reported that 25% of respondents acknowledged that their commute was full of unwanted noises, such as honking from the outside to the extent that they could not concentrate on anything else.
Another 16% said that they wanted to enjoy the company of friends but due to the high traffic situations, especially in Metro cities, couldn’t do so. But it is important to note that nearly half of the respondent, 49% suffered from backache, neck ache and other ailments while driving.
Citroen boasts that the element of comfort is synonymous with the brand and comfort philosophy encapsulates the idea of practicality and versatility making driving easier. The brand explains that ‘the easier the car is to live with every day the more comfortable it is to own the car’.
