The electric scooter and motorcycle industry have taken the automotive industry by storm. The new trend towards clean-green energy technology supported by various government incentives making them more affordable for the public. The new crop of electric scooters has also evolved challenging new limits at the same time setting new benchmarks. Now a Chinese electric mobility solutions manufacturer Tromox has introduced the Mino mini electric scooter which was first seen at the EICMA 2019.

While in its first look the Mino could be mistaken for a pepped up Honda Grom, in terms of design, the Tromox Mino features a rugged mini-adventure design with a sharp dual-sport beak, flat bench seat, a body incorporated fuel tank design, a short rear overhang, crafted swingarm made with aluminium, a trapezoidal headlamp and comes with a range of body graphics and paint themes that appear to compete with even well-established players.

The Tromox Mino is powered by a 2.5kW electric motor coupled to a 60V battery pack available in four different options an entry-level 1.3 kWh, a 1.6 kWh, 1.9 kWh and 2.3 kWh battery packs that enable the mini-moto to deliver a range of close to 115 km on a single charge. The Tromox Mino is also capable of achieving a top speed of around 60 kmph but the range is likely to suffer as speed increases.

The Tromox Mino also features upside-down front fork suspension, 180mm front and rear disc brakes, a fully digital instruments cluster with that display’s the battery state of charge, speed, time, temperature, mode and odometer, full LED lighting and a plethora of accessories made for the electric mini-moto.

The brand is expected to set up shop in the European market by spring-2021, and with EPA and DOT certification the brand is also expected to enter the U.S market soon, but due to the current anti-China sentiments, the brand is not likely to make it to the Indian market anytime soon, where the electric two-wheeler market is currently flourishing.
