BYD has launched their second offering in India. The BYD Atto 3 SUV is priced at INR 33,99,000 (ex-showroom).
This Electric SUV is based on BYD’s Dragons Face 3.0 design language. It gets a clanked out grille finished in chrome, sleek LED headlamps and fog lamp housings finished in black that are connected together. There is a slim air dam on the bumper.
The rear gets wraparound tail lights with an LED light bar. The sides get prominent character lines and the window line tapers from the front to the back. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Atto 3 is offered in 4 paint options. These are Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White and Surf Blue.
On the inside, the car gets a 12.8-inch touchscreen unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It can be rotated in horizontal or vertical orientation. The driver gets a digital instrument cluster. The Atto 3 also gets a large panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control system, one touch powered electric tailgate, electric seats for the front occupants and more.
In terms of safety, thr Atto 3 scored a 5-star rating in Euro NCAP. It gets ADAS along with 7 Airbags, ABS, ESP, hill hold assist and camera all around.
The model offered in India comes with a 60.48 kWh battery pack. This is good for an ARAI claimed range of 521 km. The electric motor is located at the front, which develops 201 BHP and 310 Nm of peak torque. The carmaker claim a 0-100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds.
The battery can also be used to run appliances that can have a maximum output of 3.3 kW. BYD offers a 8-year / 1.6 lakh km warranty on the battery and an 8-year / 1.5 lakh km warranty on the motor and its assembly. All high voltage DC components come with a 6-year / 1.5 lakh km warranty.
