BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV bookings open, 521 km range

BYD recently launched the premium electric SUV, BYD-ATTO 3 for the Indian market. BYD claims the ATTO3 as, India’s First Sporty Born E-SUV. This move also marks BYD’s official entry into the Indian passenger vehicle market with its brand mission of “Technological Innovations For A Better Life.”

Key Highlights – BYD ATTO 3

Running on the ultra-safe Blade Battery and the born EV platform (e-Platform 3.0), BYD-ATTO 3 benefits from a fast charging facility. With this, the battery can go from 0 percent to 80 percent within 50 mins. BYD claimed a range of 521 km according to ARAI tests with a higher battery capacity of 60.48 kWh. In terms of outright performance, a 0 to 100km/h run comes under 7.3 seconds. Interestingly enough, the BYD-ATTO 3 also features the L2 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS). Other key features include BYD Dipilot, 7 airbags, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.8-inch adaptive rotating suspension electronic pad, a 360-degree holographic transparent imaging system, an NFC card key, Vehicle to Load (VTOL) mobile power station, and more.

BYD-ATTO 3 is the first model in India to use e-Platform 3.0. This platform will cater to the design of the next generation of pure electric vehicles with the Blade Battery. BYD-ATTO 3 uses the Blade Battery, which passes the much-coveted nail penetration test. This is one of the industry’s most rigorous tests for batteries.

BYD Has Big Plans For The Indian Market

The launch of BYD-ATTO 3 is a big step towards something big for BYD. The company currently has two plants in India covering more than 140,000 sqm with 3,000 employees. With a cumulative investment of over USD 200 million in the country, BYD is all set to take the market by storm. The company fully resonates with India’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. Thus they are doing their bit by promoting sustainability and zero emissions by introducing pure electric vehicles and the latest technologies.

The target is to sell 15,000 units of BYD-ATTO 3 in India over the next year. There are also plans to set up a local manufacturing facility in the due course. Currently, BYD has 24 showrooms across 21 cities in India. Going forward, the company aims to expand to at least 53 showrooms by the end of 2023.
