TVS Motor Company is transitioning their product portfolio to BSVI emission norms, and the Jupiter scooter has now been updated. The 2020 model of the Jupiter Classic scooter which gets a BSVI compliant motor now also benefits from a fuel-injection and has been priced at INR 67,911 ex-showroom. TVS will also offer the Jupiter scooter in other variants such as Base, ZX & Grande in a phased manner. The BS-VI TVS Jupiter Classic ET-Fi is available in ivory, brown and blue colours.
The fuel-injection technology used on the TVS Jupiter is different to that used on the motorcycle range. TVS Motor Company calls it ET-Fi (Ecothrust Fuel injection) developed for smooth riding and enhanced fuel-economy for the scooter segment. TVS claims that the updated Jupiter with BSVI engine will deliver 15% more mileage. The INDIBLUE paint option is new to the Jupiter range and the front panel also comes with a USB charging point and a small storage spot along with a tinted front visor.
Power and torque figures are currently unknown, but the BS-VI TVS Jupiter Classic ET-Fi is expected to run on the same 109.7cc, single-cylinder motor matched to a CVT gearbox. The scooter rides on a single rear shock absorber, telescopic front forks and alloy wheels. The dual-tone paint scheme and the pillion back rest with cushion will surely lure customers.
TVS first launched the Jupiter scooter in 2013, and ever since, the brand has managed to sell more than 3 million units. The Jupiter as the brand claims was the scooter to reach the fastest 1 million sales number just in 30 months since launch. There will be a total of 4 Jupiter variants on sale which will include Base, ZX (Disc + Drum), Classic and Grande.
