BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 250 & Gixxer SF 250 launched starting at INR 1.63 Lakh

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has launched the BS6 emissions-compliant quarter-litre naked roadster Gixxer 250 at the price of INR 163,400 ex-showroom, Delhi and the fully-faired Gixxer SF 250 priced at INR 174,000 ex-showroom, Delhi along with the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition priced at an INR 174,900 ex-showroom, Delhi. The Gixxer 250 Series motorcycles can be booked from Suzuki Premium dealerships.

The brand has also announced that more than 50% of Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. LTD. dealerships have resumed operations across the country by complying with Government guidelines and will start dispatch of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 series motorcycles in the coming weeks and customers will be able to receive deliveries of Suzuki motorcycles from Suzuki Premium dealerships from mid-June.

Both the Gixxer 250 naked roadster and the Gixxer SF 250 fully-faired motorcycles are powered by a BS6 compliant 249cc single-cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve SOHC fuel-injected engine with an innovative Suzuki oil cooling system (SOCS) that cools the engine oil and routes it’s through the engine cylinder and cylinder head for higher cooling performance. The engine also derives weight-reduction and friction-reduction technologies from the brand’s experience in MotoGP. The engine produces 26.5 Ps and 22.2 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed transmission.

Apart from the new BS6 upgraded powertrain both the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 remain largely unchanged. The Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 feature all-LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, fully digital instrumentation, 12-litre angular design fuel tank, split-type step-up seat, dual exhaust outlets, 6-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, rear tyre hugger, disc brakes on both ends equipped with ABS, telescopic front fork and a swing-arm mounted mono-shock on the rear. The naked Gixxer 250 gets straight handlebars and a clip-on setup on the Gixxer SF 250. 

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 comes with two colour options – Metallic Matte Black, Metallic Matte Platinum Silver/ Metallic Matte Black. The Gixxer SF 250 comes with Metallic Matte Black, Metallic Matte Platinum Silver and the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition comes with Metallic Triton Blue. 

A few months ago, SMIPL also launched the BS6 compliant 155cc engines on the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF. The naked roadster Gixxer has been launched at the price of INR 1,11,871 ex-showroom, Delhi, the Gixxer SF demands an INR 1000 premium over the naked roadster and is priced at INR 1,12,871 ex-showroom, Delhi and the MotoGP edition Gixxer SF which comes in a ‘Metallic Triton Blue’ paint scheme and body graphics is priced at 1,22,900 ex-showroom, Delhi.
