BMW Motorrad has introduced a new electric moped, Concept CE 02. The electric Concept CE 02 is an unconventional electric bike that is neither a scooter nor a motorcycle. BMW has also revealed that the brand is targetting the younger generation audience with the Concept CE 02. Thanks to the easy riding, the rider’s from the age of 16 onwards will be able to enjoy and experience the world of riding. The Concept CE 02 will hence bring a breath of fresh air to the urban mobility concept.
BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 – Design Highlights
The BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 features a new design concept with a flat front fascia and chunky wheels. The Concept CE 02 comes with a quad-LED headlamp sitting in a recess on the front apron. The bike features a sleek and minimalist design with a unique flat bench seat design. The electric motor is mounted on the hub of the bike and features a belt drive. The battery is also incorporated between the spine and the downtube keeping the centre of gravity low and centralised.
The bike comes with a tapering handlebar along with a slim profile dashboard. The full-colour dashboard displays the battery charge, speed and also offers turn-by-turn navigation. The rear of the bike features translucent LED leaves that are fixed to the left and right of the seat. The CE 02 also comes with a single-sided swingarm and large disc wheels. The Concept CE 02 also gets smart luggage storage points and luggage straps in petrol colour. The bike also features Technoid typography and BMW wordmark on the rims and luggage straps.
BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 – Powertrain Specifications
Powering the BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 comes with an 11 kW output motor that is capable of providing instantaneous torque to the rear wheel. The electric motor is capable of propelling the bike to a top speed of 90 kmph. Unfortunately, BMW has not revealed all the technical specifications, except for the range. The Concept CE 02 claims a battery range of 90 km on a single charge. Expect the brand to reveal more details on the Concept CE 02 in the near future.
