BMW Motorrad teases maxi-scooter for India, possibly C 400 GT

BMW Motorrad has teased a new maxi-scooter which will be launched in the Indian market soon. According to BMW Motorrad’s official social media website, the brand will be debuting the maxi-scooter soon. The brand boasts that the new maxi-scooter will be the next level of urban riding in the Indian market. 

The brand has revealed a partial image of the C 400 GT maxi-scooter with the ‘Gateway Of India’ backdrop. The BMW Motorrad C 400 GT comes with a price tag of USD 8,495 MSRP in the international market, which is approximately INR 6.36 lakh. The price of the maxi-scooter may touch close to INR 8 lakh OTR. 

BMW Motorrad C 400 GT – Engine Specifications

Powering the BMW Motorrad C 400 GT is a 350cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The engine produces 34 Hp of power and 38 Nm of torque. The engine comes with an Electronic port fuel injection system and digital engine management, and BMS-ME with an e-throttle grip. The scooter comes with a three-way closed-loop catalytic converter which will conform with the latest emission standards. The scooter claims to be capable of achieving a top speed of 138 kmph (86 mph). 

BMW Motorrad C 400 GT – Design Highlights

The BMW Motorrad C 400 GT comes with a sharp and contemporary design language. The maxi-scooter comes with a wide front fascia and headlamp cluster. The scooter gets a tall windscreen visor that protects the rider from wind and weather elements. The C 400 GT also comes with a full fairing with integrated aerodynamic elements. The maxi-scooter features a large and ergonomically designed seat with GT badging and large footrests. The BMW C 400 GT also comes with dual disc brakes on the front, alloy wheels shod in wide rubber tyres, upright handlebar and digital instruments cluster. 

BMW Motorrad is likely to assign a limited number of units for the Indian market. The maxi-scooter is likely to become a collectable item in the Indian market rather than a ‘practical’ urban commuter.
