BMW X4 Silver Shadow Edition – What’s New?

BMW says they got an overwhelming response for the X4 ‘Black Shadow Edition’. Hence the company decided to bring in the ‘Silver Shadow Edition’. The new edition gets a BMW mesh kidney grille with the frame and grill nuggets in a high gloss chrome finish. The front bumper comes in a shadow metallic colour and gets new anvil-shaped inlays in a high gloss chrome finish and vertically arranged reflectors. The two-part wrap-around LED taillights also help accentuate the car’s width.

The new exclusive edition also gets new colours – Carbon Black, Phytonic Blue and Alpine White. The interiors come with a Leather Vernasca upholstery in ‘Mocha’ and decorative stitching. The M interior trim – Aluminium Rhombicle dark with the highlight finishes in Pearl Chrome is also now standard. The exclusive edition rides on new 20-inch M Light alloy wheels. The wheels have a double-spoke design and come in a bicolour orbit grey finish.

BMW X4 Silver Shadow Edition – Powertrain

The BMW X4 continues to use engines from the BMW EfficientDynamics family. Additionally, both the engine options also use the brand’s TwinPower Turbo technology. The technology offers a more spirited power delivery and better response at low engine speeds for more excellent drivability in an urban environment.

The engine in the xDrive30i is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol producing 252 HP and 350 Nm of torque. It helps the car propel from 0-100kmph in just 6.6 seconds. On the other hand, the xDrive30d comes with a 3-litre in-line six-cylinder engine turbocharged diesel engine, making 265 HP of maximum power and 620 Nm of maximum torque. The diesel accelerates from 0-100kmph in just under 6 seconds, 5.8 seconds to be precise.

The petrol and diesel engine’s transmission is an 8-speed Steptronic automatic unit. BMW xDrive is an intelligent all-wheel-drive system that powers all the wheels. The car’s suspension characteristics are also adjustable, which is possible with the Adaptive Suspension.
