BMW reveals R1250GS 40th anniversary edition with more features

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2020 by becoming the most technologically advanced sophisticated, more innovative along with numerous new features and an extended range of optional equipment and Original BMW Motorrad Accessories enabling BMW Motorrad customers to explore and discover even the most inaccessible distances on Earth.

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the BMW GS models, the BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure features a “40 Years GS” in black and yellow which are based on a milestone in the marque’s rich ‘GS’ history – the legendary R 100 GS. The new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure in their respective basic versions, comes with light white solid paint and ice grey solid paint along with the triple black style and Rallye style variants. 

Both the BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure 40th Anniversary is powered by the legendary two-cylinder boxer with EU5 type-approved, 1,254cc of displacement motor that features BMW ShiftCam technology for varying valve control timing and valve lift on the intake side producing 136 Hp of power and 143 Nm of torque with a knock sensor system for optimised touring capability and a new “Eco” riding mode for particularly economical driving as standard.

The BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure 40th Anniversary also features Electronic Dynamic ESA “Next Generation” chassis with fully automatic load compensation, three riding modes as standard along with Pro riding modes, new riding mode preselection and dynamic engine brake control as optional equipment. The motorcycles also feature Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), new BMW Motorrad Integral ABS Pro, Vehicle voltage and USB sockets, Multifunctional instrument cluster with 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display and numerous features as standard. 

The BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure 40th Anniversary also gets optional features such as new full-LED adaptive headlight, new lighting functions, cruising light and function-integrated turn indicator bulbs, seat heating for rider and passenger, handlebar risers by 30mm, intelligent emergency call function, Hill Start Control Pro (HSC Pro) with advanced function. 

BMW Motorrad has not yet revealed when the 40th Anniversary R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure will arrive at dealerships or the price.
