BMW India has opened bookings for the brand’s most affordable Sedan car in the Indian market, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe. The 2 Series Gran Coupe is due to launch on the 15th October 2020 and customer who book the 4-door coupe model will receive early-bird benefits for online bookings before 12 noon, 15th October 2020. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe can be reserved for INR 50,000 and customer’s will receive Taj Experiences Gift Card of the Same Value. The 2 Series can be booked from the brand’s official website.
On the outside, the BMW 2 Series features a sharp chrome-studded hallmark kidney grille, sleek double barrel headlamp units, an angular front apron with aerodynamic air intakes on the front, broad shoulder lines, frame-less doors, a coupe-like sloping roofline, L-shaped LED tail lamps and a sharp rear apron with boot-lid incorporated spoiler adding to the aerodynamic benefits. On the inside, the BMW 2 Series features a multilayered dashboard, leather-wrapped steering wheel with aluminium trim, contoured seats, fully digital colour instruments cluster, a large iDrive touchscreen infotainment system. Though the 2 Series is shorter in length than the competition, it is speculated to have more space on the inside and is expected to be comfortable for people around 6 feet tall on the front seats.
In the engine department, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 190 Hp of power and 400 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The brand is also likely to bring a petrol fuel iteration in the near future. The petrol motor is also likely to be a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit.
BMW 2 Series will rival the likes of the Audi A3 and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is expected to start around the INR 34 lakh mark with the top-end model priced around the INR 38 lakh ex-showroom.
