BMW Motorrad has revealed the new BMW CE 04, an electric scooter in the international market. The BMW CE 04 is the final production version of the near-series BMW Motorrad Definition CE 04 unveiled back in 2020. With the new BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad opens up a new chapter in the eco-friendly two-wheeler segment.
BMW CE 04 – Powertrain Specifications
Powering the BMW CE 04 is a 31 kW/42 Hp electric motor that can propel the scooter from 0-50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds. The brand also announced that the BMW CE 04 will also available in a 31 Hp reduced output with reduced output L3e-A1 vehicle class. In both capacities, the BMW CE 04 will be able to achieve a top speed of 120 kmph. This enables the electric scooter to traverse across cities, on the main roads and motorway sections.
BMW CE 04 – Battery
The BMW CE 04 comes with a battery cell capacity of 60.6 Ah (8.9 kWh), capable of providing a range of 130 km on a single charge. The reduced capacity version comes with a range of 100 km on a single charge. Even the reduced performance will allow the user to travel the urban jungle without range anxiety in day-to-day commutes.
BMW CE 04 – Charging
The battery system comes with a regular household socket, a wall box charger or a public charging station. At the standard charger with 2.3 kW output, it takes the scooter 4 hours and 20 minutes to achieve a full charge. At a 6.9 kW output charger, the CE 04 takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. And with an optional fast charger, the time is reduced to 45 minutes.
BMW CE 04 – Top Features
The BMW CE 04 comes with optional features such as ASC (Automatic Stability Control) and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control). The EV also gets “ECO”, “Rain” and “Road” as standard, as well as a “Dynamic” riding mode as an optional extra. The electric scooter features a 35mm telescopic front fork and a single-sided swingarm on the rear. The scooter rides on 15-inch alloy wheels shod in 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tyres and BMW Integral ABS. The CE 04 also comes with a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen with navigation and all-LED lighting units. The CE 04 also gets Adaptive Headlight Pro and ABS Pro with banking capability as an option.
