The bigger XPulse range’s production models are still some time away. However, according to recent reports, the new XPulse will not use a 300cc engine. Instead, it will use a bigger 421cc engine.
As all three models from the new XPulse lineup continue endurance testing, new reports have been coming in. So far, multiple sources pointed out that they will use a 300cc engine. There is no confirmation if only the XPulse will get the bigger 421cc engine or the Xtreme, and the XPulse T will get it as well.
XPulse Could Get A 421cc Engine
According to reports, powering the XPulse will be a 421cc single-cylinder engine. It is also reported that it will use a different chassis to take on the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure. The bigger 421cc engine could have a peak power of around 40 BHP and a peak torque of around 35 Nm.
Once Hero introduces the new XPulse, which it will likely name the XPulse 400, it will be its flagship product. However, there’s still some time before it hits the Indian market. According to one of the sources, Hero is facing multiple issues with the test mules. Hence, Hero will address and sort those before they go out for final tests.
Launch Timeline
Initial reports suggested that Hero will launch the new adventure bike in 2023. However, a source has confirmed that Hero will launch it in the second half of 2023. This contradicts previous reports that suggested Hero will launch it in early 2023.
In addition to this, there is some time before Hero starts manufacturing. Hence, it is unclear when the bike will be available for purchase. Hero could also unveil the model first and then launch it at a later date. There are also rumours that Hero will first launch the 300cc fully-faired sports bike even before the XPulse 400 is ready for production.
