BGauss A2 & B8 electric scooters launched starting at INR 52,499

BGauss an electric mobility solutions company from RR Global, a Mumbai-based electrical industry conglomerate has launched the BGauss A2 and the B8 in the Indian market at prices starting INR 52,499 for the A2 and INR 62,999 for the B8. The A2 is the brand’s entry-level low-speed model and the B8 is the brand’s premium offering. 

The brand has now commenced pre-bookings on both the BGauss A2 and B8 from the company’s official website with a minimal booking amount of INR 3,000. The brand has also announced that it will begin deliveries on both the BGauss A2 and BGauss B8 from August 2020 starting with Pune, Navi Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The BGauss A2 and BGauss B8 were unveiled in the last month and Both the A2 and the B8 come with the option of Lithium-Ion and Lead-Acid battery pack and features such as 3 riding modes (Low, Mid, High), daytime running lights, Multi-colored Digital Display, LED instrumentation, Keyless start, Centralized Seat Lock, USB charging, anti-theft alarm, anti-theft motor locking, side stand sensor and a mobile app.

The BGauss A2 which is the entry-level low-speed model comes with a range of 110 km on a single charge and a top speed of 25 kmph. The A2 is powered by a 250 Watts electric motor paired with a 60V VRLA fixed lead-acid battery which takes 7-8 hours to charge from 0 to 100% SOC (State of Charge) or an optional 1.29 kW user-removable Lithium-Ion battery pack which takes 2 hours 15 minutes to completely charge.

The premium offering, BGauss B8 also comes with the option of Lead-Acid and Lithium-Ion batteries and returns a range of 78 km with a fixed 60V VRLA lead-acid battery pack and 70 km with the user-removable 1.45 kW Lithium-Ion battery pack. The B8 takes 7-8 hours to charge the battery from 0-100% on the lead-acid model and 3 hours to completely recharge on the Lithium-ion model.

The BGauss B8 is powered by a 1900 Watts Bosch BLDC (Brushless) motor and the eScooter can achieve a top speed of 50 kmph on all three variants but is offered with features such as navigation assist, ride metrics, remote diagnostics, SOH & SOC, live tracking, geo-fencing, full charge alerts on the LI Technology top trim.

The BGauss A2 and B8 are available in a total of 5 variants (two A2 variants and three B8 variants) and rival the likes of the electric-powered scooters such as the Bajaj Chetak, Hero Electric Optima, and TVS iCube in the Indian market.
