Written by Parichay Malvankar

Benelli has launched the Leoncino 500 motorcycle in India backed by their new partner Adishwar Auto Ride India. The Leoncino 500 has been priced at INR 4.79 lakh ex-showroom and at the moment as the CFMoto 650NK as its closest twin-cylinder rival which has been priced at INR 3.99 lakh.

The Benelli Leoncino name has quite a rich heritage attached to it, and is positioned as a premium scrambler-styled motorcycle for our market. Benelli claims that they are welcoming new riders to own ‘Lion Cub’ model lineage from the ’50s & ’60s with the new Leoncino 500. The brand claims that along with the retro style, the motorcycle has all the modern bits to suit the 2019 standards.

Bookings are now open for the Leoncino 500 for INR 10,000 on the official website. Benelli is currently offering 5-year unlimited km warranty as standard on this motorcycle.

In terms of styling, the real highlight is the Lion of Pesaro positioned on the front fender. This really stands out. The motorcycle features a round headlamp with LED illumination, LED tail lamps, single-piece contoured seat, multi-spoke alloy wheels, USD front forks, rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS, forged levers, full digital speedometer console, LED turn indicators and more…

Powering the Benelli Leoncino 500 in India is a 500cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, twin-cylinder, DOHC petrol motor producing 47.5 PS of power @ 8500 RPM and 46 Nm of torque @ 6000 RPM. This is an 8-valve motor and gets a 6-speed gearbox. The Benelli Leoncino 500 rides on a steel trellis chassis. The rear monoshock suspension is pre-load and rebound adjustable and the 50mm USD front fork is also competent enough. The bike runs on Pirelli tyres mounted on 17″ rims.

Potential customers can opt to bring home the Leoncino 500 in red or grey paint options.
