If sources are to be believed, Benelli is readying their BN 302R (Tornado 302) motorcycle for a launch in the Indian premium motorcycle segment by this May 2017.

Based on their naked street sportsbike TNT 300, the BN 302R is a faired version of the same motorcycle. It will use the same 300cc, liquid-cooled, twin cylinder engine from TNT 300 that produces a 35 BHP of power and 27 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Not same in every way though, the BN 302R will most probably use a completely new and lighter frame that can accommodate the larger fairing at front and still keep it fast for the segment.

According to the sources, BN 302R has already cleared through all of the major tests and approvals required for launch in the market by Automotive Research and Association of India (ARAI). Although Benelli has not gone official about the news but according to reports, Italian manufacturer is in final stages for their pre-launch.

Expected to be launched in the segment that already consists of well established contenders such as KTM RC 390, Yamaha YZF-R3 & Kawasaki Ninja 300, it’s going to be a tough for the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. Keeping the price tag under control is the only key to success here. Another thing to look out for will be the after sales services and customer support, that they lack behind when compared to the rivals.
