Written by AnantaSaranNayak

According to recent media reports, Bajaj Auto has discontinued the Pulsar 180. It is said that production ended about a few months ago. Moreover, dealers have also stopped receiving fresh stock. The last known price for the Pulsar 180 stood at INR 1.17 lakh ex-showroom.

The latest version of this Pulsar 180 arrived in February 2021. As a part of this update, the motorcycle got new colours and different graphics. The Pulsar 180 has been one of the most iconic motorcycles old in India. The higher displacement sibling with more power in comparison to the original Pulsar 150 range made it a perfect choice for both long and short rides. Moreover, it was the perfect rival for the TVS Apache RTR 160 and Hero Honda Karizma. However, this is not the first time Bajaj discontinued the Pulsar 180.

Bajaj Pulsar 180 – Key Highlights

The Pulsar 180 uses a 178.6cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 16.76 BHP and 14.52 Nm. The equipped gearbox is a 5-speed unit. The suspension setup of this motorcycle comprises a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The Pulsar 180 gets discs at both ends, and Single-channel ABS is a standard offering. The fuel tank of 15 litres is also adequate for intra-city commutes.

What’s Next For Bajaj?

As per the report, Bajaj decided to pull the plug due to a lack of demand. Now with the 180 gone, we can expect Bajaj to launch its replacement product very soon. Currently, there’s a gap between Pulsar N160 and N250. Thus, maybe we could soon see an N180, fingers crossed. With the new Pulsar series, Bajaj has rejuvenated its much-loved series. Furthermore, the customers are reacting very positively to the new Pulsar series. Hence, if at all N180 happens, we don’t see any reason for it to fail.
