Audi has opened bookings for its new flagship sedan, A8 L, in India. The new A8 L has a loyal fan base in India, and the company is confident that the sedan will continue its strong performance. The company also says it will continue to focus on its flagship cars.
The new Audi gets a new styling, technology and a mild-hybrid setup. The initial booking amount for the car is INR 10,00,000. Interested customers can now book the car by contacting or visiting their nearest Audi India dealership. Also, they can visit the official Audi website to book and personalise the car using the configurator.
2022 Audi A8 L – Exterior Highlights
Audi says the A8 is a sedan that represents status and exudes authority. Additionally, with the new reworked design, its exterior is even more representative, confident and athletic. At the front, the new A8 L gets a bigger single frame grille and upright side air intakes. The headlights also get a new, sharper design. They also use Audi’s Digital Matrix LEDs which can animate projections onto the road.
The side of the car gets a progressive character with a flat roof dome. The stretched shoulder lines accentuate the length of the car. The wide wheel arches also hint at the standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The wide chrome strip dominates the rear, while the taillight has a wraparound design and features customisable digital OLEDs.
2022 Audi A8 L – Interior Highlights
The Audi A8 L, because of its long wheelbase, is the perfect car to relax in the backseat. Additionally, the Rear Relaxation Package takes it to the next level. The package includes a recliner and also a foot massager. Passengers can also use it to warm the bottoms of their feet. The package also includes a back massager with 18 pneumatic cushions and electrically adjustable comfort headrests.
Audi says the interiors of the A8 L are comparable with a spacious, widely tailored lounge. The architecture of the interiors has various horizontal elements to emphasise the width. The Audi A8 L uses two digital displays in the centre console. The car also supports natural voice operation using the “Hey Audi!” command.
2022 Audi A8 L – Powertrain
The Audi A8 L is available with various engine options internationally. However, India will get the A8 L in the 55 TFSI guise. New for this generation is the addition of mild-hybrid technology. The engine is a 3.0-litre TFSI with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The peak power of the engine is 340 PS and 540 Nm of torque. Audi says it produces 500 Nm of torque from as low as 1,370 rpm to 4,500 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels using Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The A8 L 55 TFSI accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.6 seconds.
