Audi India has launched the Q8 e-tron in India. The car is offered in two body styles – SUV and Sportback. Prices for the Q8 e-tron range start from INR 1.13 crore (ex-showroom).
Audi is offering two body styles on the Q8 – SUV and Sportback. While the Sportback gets a steeply raked windscreen and boot spoiler, the SUV gets an integrated spoiler on the tailgate that sits above the rear window. Audi has also claimed a reduction in the drag coefficient from 0.28 to 0.27.
The Q8 e-tron gets the typical e-tron styling, but Audi has not gone overboard with it. It’s more of an evolution than an entirely new design. The front grille gets many sharp cuts and creases. It gets various openings for air intakes and the ends of the bumper get flared recesses. All these changes make the car appear more sporty than before. There is also the new 2D Audi logo.
On the inside, the cars come with a digital cockpit, a 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system, a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera. The seats come with a massage and ventilation function as well. There is also a 10.1-inch infotainment unit and a digital instrument cluster.
In terms of powertrain options, the 55 variants come with a 114 kWh battery with dual motors – one on each axle. The total output is 402 BHP and 664 Nm. With this, the SUV offers 582 km range while the Sportback can do 600 km (ARAI range).
Meanwhile, the 50 variant comes with a smaller 95 kWh battery. The certified range on this variant is 491 km for the SUV and 505 km for the Sportback. THe power output for the 50 trim is 335 BHP and 664 Nm. The 0-100 km/h time is 6 seconds.
Audi offers a 22 kW AC charger with these cars. The charging time for the Q8 50 e-tron is claimed to be 4.45 hours. All the models support DC fast charging up to 170 kW.
