Aprilia RS 660 launched In India at INR 13.39 Lakh

Aprilia has launched the new RS 660 supersport in the Indian market with a price tag of INR 13.39 lakh ex-showroom. Customers can now book the motorcycle from Aprilia showrooms around the country, as per COVID-19 safety protocols. The Aprilia RS 660 comes with three colour options in the Indian market – Acid Gold, Apex Black and Lava Red. The middleweight sports bike will come to India via the CBU (Completely Built-Up Route) and expect deliveries to commence soon. 

Aprilia RS 660 – Engine Specifications

Powering the Aprilia RS 660 is a Euro5/BS6 compliant 659cc forward-facing parallel-twin-cylinder motor. The engine produces 100 Hp of power and 67 Nm of torque. The engine also comes with an electronic fuel injection system and an advanced thermodynamics system with a separate liquid and oil cooler. Thanks to the advanced heat exchange system, the Aprilia RS 660 performs on the race track and urban environment. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter. 

Aprilia RS 660 – Mechanical Specifications

The Aprilia RS 660 comes with a 41mm upside-down front fork suspension and a monoshock on the rear. The motorcycle features an asymmetrical swingarm in aluminium to keep the weight low. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod is wide rubber tyres. Braking duties are performed by a 320mm disc on the front and 220mm disc on the rear with Brembo stoppers and dual-channel ABS with cornering function.

Aprilia RS 660 – Electronics Package

The Aprilia RS 660 features the latest generation APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) unit. This includes an advanced six-axis inertial measuring unit that integrates gyroscopes and acceleration sensors. The array of sensors can understand the engine’s status with relation to the road in real-time and provide instant inputs to improve the performance. The package includes Aprilia Traction Control, Aprilia Wheelie Control, Aprilia Cruise Control and Aprilia Quick Shift. The electronics package also includes Aprilia Engine Brake, Aprilia Engine Map and MultiMap Cornering ABS Function with 3-levels of adjustment. 

Aprilia RS 660 – Design and Ergonomics

The Aprilia RS 660 comes with an aerodynamic fairing on the front with Aprilia’s hallmark triple headlamps. The bike also features aggressive LED DRLs with integrated signal lamps. The RS 660 comes with a chiselled fuel tank and a short tail section. The side fairing also incorporates aero ducts to help improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the motorcycle and draw hot engine air away from the engine. Aprilia has also worked in the ergonomics department and claims to have perfectly balanced the saddle, footpegs and clip-on handlebars to achieve a dynamic riding position. 

Aprilia dealerships have also started to accept bookings for the sport-touring Tuono 660 in the Indian market. Expect the launch of the Tuono 660 soon.
