After launching the RSV4 X in 2019 and the Tuono X, the most powerful and the lightest hypernaked, Aprilia Racing is back with another extraordinary V4 project, the RSV4 XTrenta. The new limited edition motorcycle celebrates the 30th anniversary of Aprilia’s first World Championship title.
Aprilia will produce only 100 units of the RSV4 XTrenta. It will cost EUR 50,000, which is roughly INR 40 lakh (excluding taxes) and will exclusively be available online from 6th September 2022. Few lucky buyers will also get the chance to collect their model from Aprilia Racing and an exclusive visit to the Noale racing department. As mentioned, with only 100 units available worldwide, the chances of one making it to our shores are very slim.
Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta – Highlights
The XTrenta’s silhouette looks similar to the regular RSV4. However, it sports new carbon fibre bodywork. PAN Compositi made these using the same process used in MotoGP. At the front, it gets new wings that increase downforce while also decreasing the drag. The back also gets brand new wings on its tail. Additionally, the Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta is the first bike in the world to have the ‘under wing’ on the swingarm. The same is present in the Aprilia RS-GP bikes from 2019 and is known as the ‘spoon’ in MotoGP. The new setup delivers 25 per cent more downforce and also reduces drag by 4 per cent.
Powering the RSV4 XTrenta is the same 1,099cc liquid-cooled V4 motor as the RSV4 1100 Factory. However, with output rated at 230 HP, it makes 13 HP more than the standard model. An increased compression ratio and bespoke titanium and carbon exhaust system by SC-Project contribute to the higher output. It also gets a Sprint Filter air filter which uses the same specification materials as MotoGP and Formula 1 use. Managing all the firepower is a specifically-calibrated Magneti Marelli ECU.
On the chassis side, it gets Ohlins suspension modified in collaboration with MotoGP engineers. It also gets a billet steering plate which is exclusive to the XTrenta. The braking system is top-notch. The RSV4 XTrenta uses Brembo GP4-MS billet monobloc callipers at the front with 330mm T-drive discs. As for the wheels, it uses Marchesini M7R GENESI forged magnesium wheels. As it is a track bike, it comes with Pirelli Diablo SBK slick tyres. The front one measures 120/70-section and uses the SC-1 compound, while the rear measures 200/65-section and uses the SC-X compound.
