The MY22 Ducati Panigale V4 variants are – V4, V4 S and V4 SP2. There are a lot of differences between the three variants. The main ones are suspension, brakes, wheels and electronics. The V4 SP2 adds a host of exclusive equipment and an exclusive livery.

Pricing for the MY22 Panigale V4 starts at INR 26.49 lakh ex-showroom for the V4 variant. Meanwhile, the higher-spec V4 S variant retails for INR 31.99 lakh ex-showroom. At the same time, the range-topping V4 SP2 will cost INR 40.99 lakh ex-showroom.

MY22 Ducati Panigale V4 – Design Highlights

For the 2022 model year, the Panigale V4 gets a host of changes to its design. These changes make the bike look even more aggressive. Some of the design changes include black logos to the full red fairings and a double fabric saddle. Additionally, the V4 S gets a two-tone double fabric saddle and a red tag on its black rims.

On the other hand, the Panigale V4 SP2 takes a stealthier approach to its design. It gets a new “Winter Test” livery consisting of matt black fairings, matt carbon fibre wings and contrasting red accents. Furthermore, it also gets an exposed brushed aluminium fuel tank. The new double-profile wings also feature the Italian flag, similar to the official Panigale V4 R SBK.

Other Panigale V4 SP2 design highlights include a Ducati Corse logo on the lower fairing and a billet aluminium steering stem, which also shows the name and number of the motorcycle. Thus, making every Panigale V4 SP2 unique.

MY22 Ducati Panigale V4 – Powertrain

Powering the MY22 Panigale V4 range is a MotoGP-derived 1,103cc V4 Desmosedici Stradale motor. For the 2022 model year, the engine gets a few updates, including a new exhaust system and a new oil pump. These modifications, along with the dedicated engine calibration, help extract the maximum power from the motor. It now makes 215.5 HP at 13,000 rpm, an increase of 1.5 HP over the MY21 Panigale V4. Meanwhile, the max torque output stands at 123.6 Nm at 9,500 rpm. Ducati also claims the engine provides over 100 Nm of torque from just 6,000 rpm.

For MY22, Ducati also made a host of changes to its gearbox. It now gets longer 1st, 2nd and 6th gears. Ducati says this type of gear ratio is derived from the Panigale V4 R. These help in ratios that are suitable for on-track and racing activities. This allows the MY22 Panigale V4 to tackle tight corners in first gear while also getting better engine braking and acceleration out of corners. Additionally, the smaller difference between the 1st and 2nd gear means the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) works even better. On the other hand, the longer 6th gear and increase in power sees the MY22 model hit a 5 kmph higher top speed.
