Aprilia has unveiled the 2022 version of Aprilia RSV4 and Tuono V4 Ultra Dark for the international markets. As a part of this update, there’s a new colour scheme on offer. There are no mechanical or design changes other than a new colour scheme. Both the motorcycles are now available with a new livery called Ultra Dark. This shade takes its inspiration from the 2006 Aprilia RSV4 1000R. This matte black shade with subtle golden inserts does look quite striking. To further enhance the overall outlook, the badges, logos and tail units also get the golden treatment. The Tuono V4 Ultra Dark, contrary to the Ducati Supersport, does not get golden wheels.
Powertrain And Mechanicals
As mentioned, there’s no update to the mechanical department. Both the motorcycles retain their mechanical set-up, the same as the current iteration. And hence, powering the Aprilia RSV4 is the same 1099cc unit that makes 217 BHP. Meanwhile, for the Tuono V4, we get the same 1077cc V4 unit that makes 172 BHP and 122 Nm. The features and equipment list is the same as the outgoing model, there’s no deletion or addition.
Dark Edition Models Gets Popular
In the last few years, we have been witnessing a surge in demand for ‘Dark Edition’ models. For the Indian market, Tata Motors has popularized this concept with its range of models. Customers also seem to be quite attracted by this offering. As they are willing to pay more for better aesthetic appeals. And now Aprilia has come up with its own scheme of ‘Dark Edition’ models.
The current generation of the RSV4 and Tuono V4 are on sale in India. And chances are high that Aprilia will include the 2022 update for the Indian market as well. This will surely bring the prices up for both the motorcycles. But, customers will go get the option to opt for this striking new ‘Dark Edition’ series. Aprilia has not announced the pricing as of yet.
