Amphibious Sherp vehicles have arrived in India

Kyiv, Ukraine, headquartered SHERP, is conducting demo tours in the Indian market. The brand has landed two Sherp extreme-off-road vehicles in India via the CBU route. The Sherp vehicles are currently working demonstrations in Manesar. The off-road all-terrain vehicles can be used for leisure activities and disaster management, and also search & rescue operations.

The demonstrations could be part of evaluations that the brand might be conducting to bring its products into the Indian market. Currently, Sherp has imported only two examples of amphibious ATV. The brand has designed the vehicle to take any type of terrain that comes in the way. The vehicles can cross water bodies without any modifications and come with an efficient diesel motor and large fuel tanks to improve range.

SHERP Powertrain and Features

Powering the Sherp is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that makes 44 Bhp of power. The diesel engine comes with a 5-speed transmission and is capable of traversing at 45 kmph. The Sherp measures 3,400mm in length, 2,520mm in width and 2,300mm in height. The amphibious ATV features almost no overhangs giving the Sherp capabilities of incredible approach and departure angles. The Sherp also comes with a skid steering system to turn the Sherp with minimum effort.

SHERP Tyres

The Sherp also comes with bespoke ultra low-pressure tanks. The tyres are interconnected by a special “eco-circuit” that pumps exhaust gases. This technology allows the wheels to act as suspension allowing the Sherp to overcome any challenges on or off the road. The tyres also feature flaps that act as a paddle and enables the Sherp to traverse across the water.

Due to the eco circuit function, the Sherp does not require an onboard air compressor to adjust the tyre pressure according to the terrain. The Sherp also comes with a 58-litre fuel tank integrated into each wheel, which means the Sherp gets a total fuel capacity of 232-litres. This feature also allows the Sherp to have an internal compartment available for tools, supplies, equipment etc.
