Isuzu has introduced the all-new 2021 MU-X SUV in Thailand. The Isuzu MU-X comes with a completely redesigned front and rear fascia along with new interiors with added equipment and features such as ADAS. The new Isuzu MU-X is also longer, wider and taller as compared to the outgoing model. Isuzu is also likely to bring the MU-X in the Indian market in the BS6 avatar.
In the Thailand market, the new Isuzu MU-X is powered by an RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre Ddi Blue Power Gen2 turbocharged four-cylinder diesel motor that produces 150 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed Rev-Tronic automatic transmission. The other option is a 4JJ3-TCX 3.0-litre Ddi Blue Power four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine the belts out 190 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque and comes matched to a 6-speed Rev-Tronic automatic transmission with no manual gearbox unit on offer.
The Isuzu MU-X measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width, 1,815 mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,855 mm and a ground clearance of 230 mm. In its standard entry-level trim, ‘Active’, the MU-X is offered with 17-inch alloy wheels, the mid-range models, Elegant & Luxury are offered 18-inch wheels increasing the height from the standard 1,815 mm to 1,825 mm and the top-of-the-line Ultimate trim is offered with 20-inch alloy wheels towering the MU-X to 1,875 mm of height and increasing its ground clearance by 5 mm.
The Isuzu MU-X comes with features such as bi-LED projector headlamps, hallmark arrow-styled LED daytime running lights, 3-line winglet signature LED tail lamps, an imposing grille with three chunky horizontal slats, muscular proportions on the sides etc. On the inside, the MU-X features a dual-tone theme on the dashboard, a centrally positioned 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, semi-digital instruments cluster with a 4.2-inch MID, dual-zone automatic climate control, PM 2.5 air purifier, USB fast charger with DC 12V as well as 220V AC power socket, remote engine start and a powered tailgate with jam protection.
The MU-X is also offered with ADAS features that include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, etc. The MU-X also comes with extended safety features such as Automatic High beam, Pedal Misapplication Mitigation, Multi Collision Brake, Parking Aid System, Manual Speed Limiter. Safety features also include 6 airbags, ABS, Brake Assist, EBD, Brake Override System, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control etc.
