Safety is the new black and Tata Motors have been boasting about safety since the brand became the first Indian manufacturer to receive a full 5-star rating from the Global NCAP, for the Tata Nexon. But in the post COVID era, safety is not just limited to a car crash but it has also become imperative for car manufacturers to deliver safe cars, sanitised and free of germs.
Tata Motors has taken this to another level by introducing the Tata Motors Safety Bubble. The new concept claims to ensure that the new Tata cars are shielded from germs as they await delivery. As the name suggests, the Tata Safety Bubble is made from a transparent plastic which comes with transparent plastic walls which warrants that a sanitised vehicle is kept away from direct contact till the time of delivery.
It is important to note that the company already launched the Sanitised by Tata Motors initiative during the pandemic and all Tata Cars are delivered after a thorough round of sanitisation. The new safety bubble only adds to the safety by providing a physical barrier, adding to the safety quotient. The new Safety Bubble is available across all prominent Tata Motors dealerships in India.
In other news, Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of a new SUV in the Indian market, the Tata Gravitas. The Gravitas is a 7-seater iteration of the much-popular Tata Harrier SUV and was first showcased at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo in February 2020. It was reported earlier that Tata had planned the launch for the festive season, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated supply chain disruption, the launch has been pushed further to the beginning of 2021. The Gravitas is expected to make a public debut by the end of this year followed by its market launch.
Upon launch, the Tata Gravitas will rival the likes of the MG Hector Plus, the upcoming Mahindra XUV500 and the Hyundai Creta 7-seater model that has been spied testing in South Korean and speculated to arrive in the Indian market by the end of 2021.
