Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV in India. The 2024 facelift Mercedes-Benz GLS will be available in the GLS 450 4-Matic (Petrol) and GLS 450d 4-Matic (Diesel) options. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 and GLS 450d facelift models come with plenty of important updates and interiors inspired from the GLS Maybach.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 and GLS 450d – Price
The new Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift comes in two variants. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4 Matic petrol comes with a price tag of INR 1.32 Crore ex-showroom. The diesel variant comes with a price tag of INR 1.37 Crore ex-showroom. The 2024 facelift Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV will be available in three new colour options – Sodalite blue, High-tech Silver and Selenite Grey.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 and GLS 450d – New Updates
For 2024 Mercedes-Benz is introducing interiors that draw inspiration from the GLS Maybach. The facelift SUV gets new angular air vents with chrome louvres. The Manufaktur trim features a glossy piano black lacquer. This comes inlayed with contrasting silver flowing lines.
In addition to this, the new GLS comes with a laminated glass with an acoustic film. The windows also come with infrared absorption films preventing the cabin from heating up. The film also helps reduce the harmful UV rays protecting the occupants.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 and GLS 450d also comes with a new Rear Comfort Package Plus. This includes a 7.4-inch MBUX tablet luxury head restraints and a chauffeur package. The luxury SUV also comes with 13 individually controlled speakers with an output of 590 watts. This works in conjunction with Dolby Atmos surround sound through a premium Burmester sound system.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 and GLS 450d – Engine Specifications
Powering the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4Matic petrol is a M256M in-line six-cylinder petrol engine. The 3-litre petrol engine with an electric auxiliary turbocharger produces 375 Hp of power and 500 Nm of torque. The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450d 4Matic features an OM656M, that claims to be the most powerful diesel engine by Mercedes-Benz. The engine utilises NANOSLIDE cylinder barrels used by Mercedes-Benz in Formula 1 to reduce friction. The 3-litre six-cylinder Oil Motor produces 362 Hp of power and 750 Nm of torque.
Both come with an upgraded 48V mild hybrid technology with Integrated Starter Generator (ISG2). The ISG system produces an additional +15 kW of power and +200 Nm of torque on demand. Both engines come with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission capable of propelling them both from 0-100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds and achieving an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
