Ather Energy has marked its 10th anniversary with the launch of the 450 Apex, a special edition scooter made for enthusiasts with segment-first features.
According to Tarun Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO of Ather Energy, the 450 Apex represents a culmination of efforts to push the boundaries of design, performance, and innovation. Mehta highlighted that it boasts India’s fastest throttle response, making it the company’s most exciting scooter in production today.
Performance Boost with Warp+
Ather has introduced a new riding mode, Warp+, that accelerates the 450 Apex from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. It sets a new standard with an industry-leading reaction time of 90 ms, making it not only the fastest among electric scooters but also outpacing internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters. The scooter delivers a peak torque of 210 Nm at the wheel, surpassing competitors and ICE two-wheelers in the 200cc category.
450 Apex ‘Magic Twist’
The 450 Apex gets something called ‘Magic Twist,’ a first-of-its-kind feature that works like single-pedal driving in electric cars. It’s an evolution of regenerative braking, capable of bringing the scooter to a complete halt even at 100% battery charge. Magic Twist allows users to brake with negative input on the throttle, providing 40% more braking force than other regenerative braking systems in India. This feature improves the scooter’s range by up to 7% to 157 km as claimed by Ather Energy.
Fresh Livery
The Ather 450 Apex showcases a clean, minimal design, with a unique transparent panel revealing the scooter’s internal chassis. The transparent panel, set against a painted orange chassis, is a first in India. The scooter sports a bold ‘Indium Blue’ color, known as the most matte blue globally, contrasted against a striking orange.
Delight Kit for a Special Touch
To make the 450 Apex even more special, Ather has introduced a Delight Kit for customers, including a handcrafted helmet, an inbuilt Ather TPMS, a neck gaiter, an iron-on garment patch, and a uniquely designed keychain. The scooter comes with a 5-year or 60,000-kilometre battery warranty and complimentary Ather Connect for 3 years.
Priced at ₹1.89 lakh (ex-showroom), bookings for the Ather 450 Apex are open, with deliveries set to commence in March 2024.
