BMW has launched the iX1 in India. This is nothing but the all-electric version of the X1 SUV. BMW India is offering the iX1 in only the xDrive30 M Sport trim with price starting INR 66.90 lakh, ex-showroom.

THe BMW iX1 is based on the 3rd-gen X1. BMW has kept the design of the all-electric SUV pretty similar to the ICE version. Some of the key differences include an updated front end with squarish BMW grille, adaptive LED headlamps and more. Towards the back, the iX1 gets L-shaped LED lamps and a roof spoiler on the back. The car rides on 18-inch M alloy wheels.
On the inside, the SUV comes with aluminium mesh dashboard trim, M Anthracite headliner along with a M Sport multifunction steering wheel. Other features include a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and BMW’s iDrive 8.5 system. Sound consists of 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio while comfort features include dual zone climate control, active seats, sunroof and wireless charging amongst others.
The iX1 gets all-wheel drive as standard and gets safety tech like DTC, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, DSC, ABS, Cornering Brake Control, Lane and Departure Warning. Further, Cruise Control with Braking Function and Pedestrian protection is offered as standard amongst others.
Powertrain of the iX1 xDrive30 M Sport
BMW has used a dual-motor setup for the iX1. The combined power is 313 BHP while the car gets a peak torque of 494 Nm. Thanks to this, the car is claimed to have a 0-100 km/h time of 5.6 seconds with a limited top speed of 180 km/h.
THe iX1 gets a 66.5 kWh battery unit that offers 417-440 km of WLTP range. A 130 kW DC fast charger will top up the car from 10-80 percent in 29 minutes while the 11 kW AC charger will take 6.3 hours for the same. BMW offers the 11 kW AC charger as complementary.
Warranty on the BMW iX1
The BMW iX1 electric SUV is offered with a 2-year / unlimited km warranty. Meanwhile the batteries are covered by an 8 years / 1,60,000 km warranty.
