While Skoda is gearing up to launch the next-generation Kodiaq and Superb, the Czech carmaker has revealed some more information about them. This time, we have details of the interiors of the two cars.
New interiors of the Skoda Kodiaq & Superb
Skoda has developed an all-new dashboard design for both these vehicles. It features a central touchscreen unit with three knobs. Further, there is a small 1.26-inch display that reveals what these knobs are for. While the outer knobs will handle the seat heat and ventilation, the inner one will help with media volume, driver modes and fan speed. Additionally, there are physical buttons for the front and rear defoggers, air circulation and climate control.
The 13-inch touch screen unit gets connected car technology. It is complemented by a 10-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver. There is a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel as well. Skoda has used premium fabrics and soft touch material all around the cabin.
Powertrain options for the new Superb and the Kodiaq
Skoda has already revealed the powertrain options. The Czech carmaker plans to offer 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbo petrols and a 2.0-litre diesel on the Kodiaq SUV. The former will be offered in hybrid and mild-hybrid options.
For the entry level model, Skoda will offer the 1.5-litre engine in a 150 HP avatar. This will be paired with a mild-hybrid system as well. A 7-speed DSG gearbox will be offered as standard.
The same engine will power the plug-in hybrid variants. The 1.5-litre TSI mill is paired with a 25.7 kWh battery. The total system output is 204 HP. Skoda will offer a 6-speed DSG gearbox with the plug-in hybrid versions. The all-electric range is expected to be 100 km.
There are also going to be all-wheel drive variants of the Superb and the Kodiaq. This model will feature a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine rated at 204 HP. The Czech carmaker has paired a 7-speed DSG to this motor.
In the international markets, there will be two diesel motors on offer. The same 2.0-liter diesel will be available in two states of tune. Customers can choose from a 150 HP front wheel drive or a 193 HP all-wheel drive setup. Both of them will get 7-speed dual clutch automatics as standard.
