Honda Racing India has unveiled its rider lineup for the 2023 edition of the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup. The event is set to take place from this week at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.
Rider line-up at the 2023 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup
Honda has rounded up 14 young individuals for the five-round season. These participants will get to ride the Moto3 race bike – the NSF250R. Five new riders have also been called in who got promoted from the CBR150R novice section. The event is expected to offer a great racing experience as well as provide insight into the future of motorcycle racing in the country.
The 14 young and talented riders are Kavin Quintal (18 yrs), Shyam Shundar (19 years), Rakshith S Dave (14 years), Theopaul Leander (22 years) from Chennai, Mohsin P (20 yrs) from Mallapuram, AS James (21 yrs) and Samuel Martin (23 yrs) from Bangalore, Prakash Kamat (19 yrs) from Bokaro Steel City and Vivek Rohit Kapadia (20 yrs) from Belgaum. All these will get to pilot around Honda’s Moto3 machine.
Apart from these 14, there will also be Raheesh Khatri (15 yrs) from Mumbai, Siddesh Sawant (21yrs) from Uttur, Harshit Bogar (19 yrs) from Bangalore, Shyam Babu (19 yrs) from Chennai and Beedani Rajendera (18 yrs) from Hyderabad. These five riders have been promoted up from the CBR150R Cup.
2023 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup : More Details
For this year, the organisers expect the Talent Cup to serve as a platform that is solely dedicated towards these young riders. They will get the appropriate development and nurturing to become the next-generation of national and international riders. Further, the event will also showcase the talent as well as potential of all the Honda racers.
Honda NSF250R : More Details
The Honda NSF250R comes with a four-stroke 250cc engine. This race motorcycle was developed by the Honda Racing Corporation back in 2011 to replace the outgoing two-stroke Honda RS125R. The bike first participated in the new Moto3 segment in 2012. Honda updated the bike for the 2014 season and in 2015, they won the constructor’s championship. The engine develops 47.6 HP @ 13,000 rpm and 28 Nm @ 10,500 rpm.
