Yamaha is on a roll today. The Japanese bikemaker has launched a bunch of new bikes. Some of them got new features and updates. The price of the bike is set at INR 1,93,900 (ex-showroom).
Given the popularity of the motorcycle, the Yamaha R15M is amongst the top choice of motorcycles in the 150cc segment. After the new updates, the motorcycle becomes even more desirable and will attract more attention.
What’s new in the 2023 Yamaha R15M?
The 2023 Yamaha R15 will now get a coloured TFT meter inspired from the YZF-R1. This instrument cluster comes with gearshift indicator, Track and Street Mode selector amongst others.
While Yamaha has not changed the other mechanical features, the bike maker has now offered LED indicators on the R15M. This means the bike now comes with an all-led lighting setup.
The bike is also now compatible with the OBD 2 norms. This means, Yamaha has fitted an Onboard diagnostic device which is compliant with the new emission norms. It will throw out a warning in case there is any issue with the emission’s system.
Other features include a dual horn, aluminium swing-arm, bi functional LED headlamp and more.
Powertrain of the 2023 Yamaha R15M
Yamaha has equipped the R15Mer 2.0 with its 155cc liquid cooled engine. This 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve unit comes with a variable valve actuation system which ensures that the engine develops 18.4 PS of peak power @ 10,000 rpm and a max torque of 14.2 Nm @ 7,500 rpm. Additionally, Yamaha has also offered a assist and slipper clutch along with a 6-speed manual gearbox on the 2023 Yamaha R15M. Yamaha has also offered traction control on the bike.

Yamaha is also offering a connected-bike app wit the MT-25 Version 2.0. When paired with the bike, smartphone alerts like calls, SMS/Email alerts and the phones battery is displayed on the instrument cluster.
