Bajaj Auto has launched the Platina 110 ABS. The entry-level motorcycle now comes with the added safety of single-channel ABS and is priced at an ex-showroom rate of INR 72,224.
What’s new in the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS?
The commuter segment is a hotly contested bike category in India. The Platina is the first bike in this segment to come with ABS.
Other new features include a digital speedometer console, a gear position indicator, gear shift guidance and an ABS light. The bike gets a standard halogen headlight unit with an LED DRL. The fuel tank capacity of the bike stands at 11 litres.
In terms of colour options, Bajaj offers three options. These are Ebony Black, Cocktail Wine Red and Saffire Blue.
In terms of suspension, the front gets telescopic front forks while the rear gets dual-spring shock absorbers with Nitrox. Both wheels are 17-inchers.
Powertrain of the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS
The Platina continues to be offered with the same 115.45cc single cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces a peak power of 8.44 BHP and a maximum torque of 9.81 Nm. A 4-speed gearbox handles the transmission duties.
Competitors of the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS
Here in the domestic market, the Bajaj Platina heads on the likes of the Honda CD 110 Dream, TVS Star City and the Hero Splendor Plus. In the month of November, the Platina sold 33,702 units. In the same period last year, the bike sold 60,646 units. This means a negative growth of 44.4 percent. The introduction of the ABS version of the bike could offer the much needed impetus to increase the bike’s sales.
In other news, Bajaj Auto has announced the all-new Pulsar P150 in India. The bike has been launched in Kolkatta, and can be expected in other parts of the country soon.
