Mahindra could be planning to launch a new variant of the XUV700 in the Indian market. The SUV is currently available in a 5 seater version and a 7-seater version. According to reports, Mahindra will now offer the XUV700 in a 6-seater version. The brand will be offering the car with a 6-seat layout as per the AdrenoX application. The application reveals that the Mahindra XUV700 will feature a 2+2+2 seating layout. This also means that the second row of the SUV will come with captain seats.
Mahindra XUV700 – Existing Seating Options
The Mahindra XUV700 come in a dual trim concept – MX and AX. The MX trim features a 5-seat layout in both petrol and diesel versions. On the other hand, the AX trim comes with 5-seater as well as 7-seater options. The brand currently does not offer a captain seat variant on the XUV700. The brand is likely to unveil the new variant with the 2+2+2 layout soon. The brand is not likely to make any mechanical changes to the XUV700.
Mahindra XUV700 – Safety
Mahindra recently achieved a Global NCAP safety rating of full 5-stars. The SUV received five stars for adult occupant protection and four stars for child occupant protection. The Mahindra XUV700 crash-tested by the charitable organisation came with safety features such as two airbags, ABS brakes and ISOFIX anchorages as standard. According to the Global NCAP, Mahindra could offer three-point belts in all seating positions, side head curtain airbags, side-body airbags, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard to further improve its rating. The new XUV700 with 6 seats is likely to come with three-point seat belts by default.
Mahindra XUV700 – ADAS Features
The car is also the first in the segment to offer ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). This includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. The SUV also comes with Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, traffic sign recognition etc. Higher-specification models also come with 7-airbags, including curtain airbags, side airbags and knee airbags.
