MG recently launched the new Astor SUV in the Indian market. The brand boasts that the MG Astor comes with Level 2 Autonomous Driving Technology and ADAS features. Recently Mahindra also launched the all-new XUV700 in the Indian market. The XUV700 also comes with ADAS offering driver assistance system never ever offered in the segment and at the price point. Here we compare the Astor and the Mahindra XUV700 in an ADAS feature comparison.

MG Astor Vs. Mahindra XUV700 – Price

The MG Astor comes with a price tag starting at INR 9.78 lakh ex-showroom. The brand offers the Astor with four variants and the top-spec Sharp variant comes with optional ADAS functions as well as other Level 2 Autonomous features. The Sharp variant comes with a price tag starting at INR 13.98 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to INR 16.78 lakh ex-showroom. The Mahindra XUV700 comes with a starting price of INR 12.49 lakh ex-showroom. However, ADAS features are offered only on the AX7 and AX7L trim which starts from INR 17.99 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to INR 22.99 lakh ex-showroom.

MG Astor Vs. Mahindra XUV700 – ADAS Features

The MG Astor comes with features such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking. The brand also offers Lane Functions that keep the vehicle within the lane lines and Speed assist system that can read the speed limit on the road sign and infer to the speed limit. The car also comes with a Forward Collision Prevention system which is able to alert and then apply brake in case a four-wheeler, two-wheeler or pedestrian comes too close. The Astor also comes with Rear Drive Assist functions for rear incoming traffic, side-lane strafing, overtaking and cross-traffic alerts.

On the other hand, the Mahindra XUV700 offers comes with Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. The SUV also comes with Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning. Mahindra also offers an emergency braking function, in case the driver does not respond to an obstacle. The car also comes with high-beam assist and traffic sign recognition.
