British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has launched the exclusive Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line edition for the Indian market. The Black Gold Line Edition shares the price tag as the Gold Edition, which is INR 11,79,000 (ex-showroom). Triumph will produce the new Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line edition for just a year, ensuring its exclusivity. By launching the new bike alongside 5 other Gold Line edition models, Triumph will showcase its hand-painted gold lining skills.
Triumph’s renowned paint team has stated that it takes years of patience, expertise, and steady hands to develop gold-lining skills. By applying a two-tone colour base scheme, the paint team ensures that the meeting point between the colours undergoes flattening. The artist then applies a continuous gold pinstripe on the bike by hand, using a specialized soft-bristled sword-liner brush. The team then applies a final coat of lacquer to seal the pinstripe in order to finish the painting process.
2021 Triumph Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line: Design Details
Despite being priced the same as its T120 Gold Line counterpart, the T120 Black Gold Line has unique visual details. The new bike sports a darker edge thanks to the Matt Sapphire Black paint scheme on various panels. These include the fuel tank, front/rear mudguards, headlight cover, blacked-out engine, exhaust system, and side panels.
Complimenting the Matt Sapphire paint scheme is the Matt Silver Ice coloured infill, which features hand-paint gold lining. Along with a ‘gold line’ logo in the inscription, the bike sports Matt Silver Ice coloured side panel stripe graphics. Additionally, new black and gold Bonneville T120 Black logos with a hand-painted gold lining are also present on the bike. Triumph also offers an accessory fit matching Matt Sapphire Black flyscreen for the Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line edition.
