Volvo Car India announces lifetime parts warranty

Written by Akhil Dalvi

Volvo Car India launched its brand new “customer lifetime parts warranty” scheme for the Indian Market. As a first for the automotive industry, the scheme covers all parts bought after the end of their existing warranty. Any authorized Volvo dealership can conduct the installation of parts, and the warranty is applicable on genuine parts starting October 1st, 2021.

Volvo Lifetime Warranty on Parts

The scheme begins right after the purchase of the part and is valid until the change in ownership of the car. Along with covering both labour and part costs, the scheme showcases Volvo’s commitment to providing a carefree and secure car ownership experience. The scheme highlights product quality and service thanks to the complete repair or replacement offered on any defective manufactured part.

The “customer lifetime parts warranty” is only applicable on hardware-based equipment and not software-based. The scheme also doesn’t apply for everyday wear and tear of parts, consumables, batteries, accessories, and replaced parts under the new car warranty.

Top Safety Pick Plus Award

The US-based, non-profit organization called Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the entire lineup of Volvo cars. The IIHS’ Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) award signifies Volvo’s focus towards standard safety systems like frontal collision warning and auto emergency braking. Regardless of Bodystyle, engine, or trim, Volvo offers other innovative systems such as advanced pedestrian and cyclist collision warnings.

In February 2021, Volvo won nine TSP+ awards, followed up by another five in March and one in April. Volvo’s full-electric XC40 Recharge joins the 15 award-winning family due to being awarded by the IIHS. This achievement makes Volvo the only carmaker in the world to win the most TSP+ awards in a single year since 2013. The list of Volvo cars to win the award are S90, S90 Recharge, V90, V90 Cross Country, V60 Cross Country, S60, S60 Recharge, V60, V60 Recharge, XC60, XC60 Recharge, XC90, and XC90 Recharge.
