Tata Motors recently delivered 5 Nexon EV XZ+ Dark Edition to Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL). This was done as a part of the Republic Day celebration. With this, ASCDCL aims to spread awareness of EVs and encourage more people to join in. Previously, Tata had delivered Nexon EVs to the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai as well as to the Government of Gujarat. EVs have witnessed significant growth in the past two years. Furthermore, the central government, along with a host of state governments, have introduced EV centric policies to propel this shift.

Tata Nexon EV – The Best Selling Electric Car

Tata Motors, after the launch of Nexon EV, now has a fair share in the EV business. The SUV’s sales currently contribute to almost 60 per cent of the electric car market, which is quite a significant number. To further solidify its position, Tata Motors recently introduced the electric version of the Tigor. Other than this, Tata Motors has its presence in the commercial EV sector in the form of the Xpres T EV.

Nexon EV is a perfect choice for someone looking for a daily commuter EV. With a real-world range of around 200 km and a competitive price tag, Nexon EV is in much demand. And now, as per the latest reports, Tata Motors will soon launch a long-range version of the Nexon EV. This particular model will use a larger battery pack, thus increasing the driving range. And it is expected that the long-range model will return a real-world mileage of around 300 km. This will now make the SUV useful for short highway runs as well.

Recent spy shots of the long-range Nexon revealed that Tata Motors would most likely offer all-four discs. Given all the additions, the price will also increase over the current model that is on sale. The current model comes with a sticker price of INR 14,29,000 (ex-showroom) for the base XM trim. Meanwhile, the feature-loaded top-spec XZ+ Lux trim retails at an ex-showroom price of INR 16,90,000.
